Argentina Missions Trip Nov 9-18, 2009

During the month of November 2009 a team of sixteen people led by Pastor Brooks traveled to San Pablo, Argentina to build a church. This is a nostalgic visit for the Brooks family because San Pablo is near the city of Tucuman, where they planted three churches over 27 years ago. The Argentines of the San Pablo church had the foundation when our team arrived and then together they were able to pour the concrete floor and raise all four walls. Since that time People’s Church and friends have send offerings to continue construction. The roof is now on and the church is continuing to finish the building.
This missions trip was a success and each team member made a significant contribution.
Here is a letter we received from San Pablo:

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
From San Pablo, we say to you: Thank you! For more than 25 years we have waited for the fulfillment of God’s promise over our precious church. This new building marks for our church a new beginning with a visible testimony to our community. God will fill this place with people redeemed by the love of Jesus Christ.
This congregation began as an evangelistic campaign in 1984. For a few months the services were held in the open air and in a short time we acquired the lot and bought the little wood shed. From that moment the congregation has passed through many different stages of testing with little apparent growth. For many years the people of our community have made fun of our little wood building but we continued believing that one day we would have a good place for our congregation—a permanent building. Today this new building is a testimony to the power of God to all of San Pablo.
La Iglesia Refugio de Vida (The church “Refuge of Life”) thanks all the brothers and sisters of People’s Church and all the friends for your support, money, time and effort. Here, we in Argentina have received the love of God through your generosity. We see God’s faithfulness in all you have given to us.
You are part of the construction of this church, but you are more; you are going to be with each person that receives Jesus as their Savior and is discipled in this place.  Words fail us to say thanks.  Thanks for being sensitive to the Lord.  Thanks for your support.  Thanks for being part of the purpose of God for our church.  Thanks for being a blessing to us.  Thanks for your prayers.
