    Stewardship

    Worship is not limited to praise and prayer, but includes every area our lives, including our time, talents
    and resources. The scriptures are clear that God owns everything: "To the Lord your God belong the
    heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it," (Deuteronomy 10:14).

    We believe that sharing what God has blessed us with is an important way to worship the Lord. We
    pledge to be good stewards of your gifts, administrating them in such a way that honors God and is
    fiscally responsible. We present a budget to the church each for approval and follow it with diligence.

    You may receive a number for your giving if you ask the office. If you use an envelope this allows you to
    receive a receipt for your tax-deductible gifts in accordance with IRS requirements. That receipt is
    mailed out after each current year is complete. Not only does this allow you to claim a deduction on your
    taxes, but it also allows you to accurately evaluate your giving each year.


    Our giving is designated by the following areas:

    Tithes:  Money given to support the ministries of People's Church.
    Malachi 3:10-Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.

  • Missions: Money given above the 10% tithe to support ministries beyond our church here in Missouri, our  
    nation and around the world.

  • Joseph Fund: Money given to help us retire our debt. We are believing that we will be able to make four
    extra principal payments each year. This will allow us to be debt free in around 8 years. We have made five
    principal payments to date and each time we save over $7,300 in interest.

  • Sanctuary Fund: This is money going directly toward the renovation of our present sanctuary. We plan
    to renovate the sanctuary this year and the entry-way and bathrooms next year.

  • Scholarship: This is money given to our school (People's Christian Academy).

  • Widows Fund: This is money given to support a group worthy widows in our church.
